Link Studio, LLC became a reality in 2002, when Aline Lin and Michael Linkinhoker decided to bring their vision and over ten years of experience together under one roof and one name. What sets Link Studio apart from other companies is that our background in medical and biological illustration has given us insight on how to effectively communicate and organize complex information to specific audiences. Our ability to combine engaging visual communication with information design through interactivity, illustration, and animation has allowed us to explore innovative ways to present a wide range of topics. Link Studio has the expertise to successfully apply these skills to inspire people to delve into a wealth of information and broaden their understanding of the subject matter. Through solid planning, logical organization, engaging design, a solid understanding of current technologies and marketing needs, and creative problem solving, we can provide a window into any subject, thus making a memorable impact.

The Partners
Aline Lin, MA
As a co-founder and principal of Link Studio, LLC, Aline has designed and coordinated projects which involved multiple team members for clients such as the Johns Hopkins Medicine, Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, and the Smithsonian Institution. Several of the projects she has worked on have challenged her to design for a diverse audience. Aline’s design work has been recognized by numerous awards and institutions such as Communication Arts. As a Information Technology Practitioner Faculty at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and guest lecturer for the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Aline enjoys sharing her experience and expertise with students. Aline is also a graduate of the Women Entrepreneurs of Baltimore (WEB) program and member of the International Academy of Visual Arts.
Michael Linkinhoker, MA,
Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI)
As a co-founder and principal of Link Studio, LLC, Michael brings his medical illustration, animation, print design and interactive design expertise to the company. Michael is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he teaches graduate level courses. Michael has managed, directed, illustrated and animated interactive Flash modules for the University of New Hampshire, Cancer Research Institute, Biocompatibles, and DataMonitor. He was also the Art Director/Medical Illustrator/Web Administrator for the Division of Gastroenterology, GI Web site Office at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. One of Michael’s main roles was creating original interactive and instructional Flash animation, medical illustration and project and Web site management for the Johns Hopkins Gastroenterology and Hepatology Resource Center Web site. This Web site provides a library of information on digestive diseases for patients and their families.
Michael’s design and illustration work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Illustrators Club of Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia, and The Association of Medical Illustrators. He has previously held positions as an Instructor and Medical Illustrator at the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a Designer for the Creative Services Department at Miller Freeman, Inc., a magazine publisher.
